How to Play Ice Fishing on 1xBet — Complete Rules & Mechanics Guide

Ice Fishing Basics — What You Need to Know

Game Provider: Evolution Gaming

If you've never touched a live game show before, Ice Fishing's a brilliant place to start. And if you have? You'll pick this up in about thirty seconds. It's made by Evolution Gaming — the lot behind Dream Catcher, Crazy Time, Monopoly Live. Basically every live game show worth playing.

Game Format: Live Money Wheel

Physical wheel. Real studio. Real presenter standing there in a gorgeous winter-themed set with ice formations and falling snow. It's broadcast in HD and on 1xBet the stream quality's been consistently excellent for me — even on ropey broadband. It genuinely feels like watching a TV show. Just one where you can lose money. (Or gain it. Hopefully.)

Minimum and Maximum Bets on 1xBet

You can bet as little as £0.10 per position on 1xBet. Max goes up to about £5,000 per position for the high rollers, but let's be real — most of us aren't anywhere near that. I play with £0.50 to £2 per position. Keeps things fun without the sweaty palms. Start small. There's absolutely no rush.

The Ice Fishing Wheel — All 53 Segments

Number Segments (1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50)

The first time I actually counted the segments I was gobsmacked. 23 ones. Twenty-three! Nearly half the entire wheel is just... ones. That explains so much about why base game returns feel modest. The rest scales down from there — 13 twos, 7 fives, 4 tens, 2 twenty-fives, and a single lonely fifty sitting there looking all smug.

Bonus Segments — How Many of Each?

One each. That's it. One Lil' Blues, one Big Oranges, one Huge Reds. 1.89% per spin for each bonus, or 5.67% combined for any bonus on any spin. In practice that's roughly one bonus every 17–18 spins — though variance means you might go 50 spins seeing nothing, or trigger two back-to-back. I've had both. The two back-to-back was a very good evening.

Visual Segment Map

The segments aren't random, by the way. The 1s dominate everything — massive clusters of them all around the wheel. The bonus segments are deliberately spaced apart so you never have two bonuses next to each other. And the high-value numbers (25, 50) are always sandwiched between low ones, which makes those near-misses where the wheel creeps past a 50 and lands on 1 absolutely painful. Genuinely gutting. I've had about thirty of those and I'm still not over any of them.

How a Round Plays Out

Step 1 — Betting Phase (12 seconds)

Timer starts. You've got 12 seconds to get all your bets down. Tap your chip size, tap the segments you want. You can bet on as many as you like simultaneously — numbers, bonuses, whatever combination you fancy.

12 seconds felt impossibly short my first few rounds. Now I've got my bet placements down to muscle memory — usual spread takes me about 4 seconds. It's one of those things that feels stressful until suddenly it doesn't.

Step 2 — The Wheel Spins

Betting closes. Presenter triggers the spin. The physical wheel goes round — this isn't a digital animation, it's an actual mechanical wheel — and you can hear the flapper clicking against each segment as it slows. That clicking sound. Honestly. It builds tension beautifully. The last few seconds when it's barely crawling and you're watching it inch towards your segment... that's the stuff.

Step 3 — Result & Payout

Wheel stops. If it landed on something you bet on, payout's instant. Bet £2 on "5" and it hits? £10 back (£2 bet + £8 profit). Bang. Appears in your 1xBet balance immediately. No waiting, no confirmation screens, none of that.

Step 4 — Bonus Round (If Triggered)

If the wheel lands on a bonus segment you've bet on, you're in. Screen transitions to the dedicated bonus game with its own animation and multiplier reveals. Each bonus plays a bit differently. I've written about all three in obsessive detail — explore all three bonus games on the dedicated page.

Bonus Round Triggers

Lil' Blues — How It Triggers

One Lil' Blues segment on the wheel. Flapper stops on it, you're in if you bet on it. Multipliers inside go from 3x to 100x. It's the starter bonus. Not flashy. But honest.

Big Oranges — How It Triggers

Same deal — one Big Oranges segment, 1.89% per spin. Inside you get 4x to 200x. This is the one. This is my favourite. Most of my best sessions have involved Big Oranges doing something ridiculous.

Huge Reds — How It Triggers

One Huge Reds segment. When it triggers, everything changes. The drama. The music. 10x to 500x multipliers, meaning even the worst possible Huge Reds outcome is still solid. And the best? 500x, which on the right bet hits the game's 5,000x cap. Mental.

Payout Structure

Base Game Payouts

Dead simple. Bet £1 on "5," wheel lands on 5, you get £5 back. Bet £2 on "10" and it hits? £20 back. Multiplication. That's it. 1xBet's interface even shows your potential payout before you confirm, which is handy when you're rushing through the 12-second window.

Bonus Round Payouts

Bonus payouts multiply your original bet on that bonus segment. So £1 on Big Oranges, it triggers, you get a 150x multiplier — that's £150. The bonus payout replaces the base payout. You don't get both.

Maximum Win (5,000x)

Absolute max is 5,000x your bet. Realistically you're getting there through Huge Reds — a 500x multiplier on a qualifying bet. The overall RTP is 96.08%, which means for every £100 wagered long-term, the game returns £96.08 on average. For the full maths nerd experience, check our RTP and odds breakdown.

Betting Interface on 1xBet

Placing Bets on Desktop

Betting interface lives at the bottom of the screen. Chip sizes on the left, betting grid with all segments. Click a chip, click a segment. Done. You can adjust or remove bets before the timer runs out. The bet history panel on the right is actually useful — genuinely, I use it to keep myself honest about how many spins since the last bonus.

Placing Bets on Mobile

Portrait layout. Wheel takes the top two-thirds, betting at the bottom. Tapping is a tiny bit slower than clicking, which makes that 12-second window feel tighter. But after two or three sessions the touch controls feel natural. For the whole mobile breakdown, read our mobile Ice Fishing guide.

Bet History & Statistics Panel

1xBet logs your recent results in a panel. I find it useful for tracking spins since the last bonus — helps me stay grounded in the actual maths rather than gut feelings. You won't find prediction tools in there. And you shouldn't trust anyone who claims to offer them. Absolute nonsense, that.

Common Beginner Mistakes

Ignoring the Bonus Segments

My first 10 sessions I only bet on numbers. Huge mistake. The base game max is 50x (one segment out of 53!), while bonuses go up to 500x. If you're not betting on at least one bonus segment you're missing the entire point. I cannot stress this enough.

Betting Too Many Segments at Once

Covering everything feels safe. It isn't. You "win" every spin but the maths works against you — the combined cost of covering all segments exceeds the average return. It's actually the fastest way to bleed your bankroll dry. Pick a strategy. Stick to it.

Chasing Losses

20 spins without a bonus. The temptation to double your bets. Don't. The wheel has no memory. Spin 21 has exactly the same odds as spin 1. I learned this the hard way in month two — chased a £60 loss and ended up down £180. Absolutely rubbish evening. Once you've got the rules down, head to our Ice Fishing strategies for smarter approaches.

My First Ice Fishing Session — What I Learned

When I first loaded Ice Fishing on 1xBet, I genuinely had no idea there were 53 segments. Thought it was basically Crazy Time with a different skin. I was... half right? Similar concept, but the segment distribution and bonus structure are quite different once you actually look at them.

First mistake: bet £5 on a single number. The number 10. Was thinking of it like roulette for some reason. With only 4 tens on a 53-segment wheel that was always going to end badly, and it did. First spin. Landed on 1. Five quid gone just like that.

Second mistake: the betting timer. Didn't realise how fast 12 seconds goes when you're still figuring out where everything is. Third round I was still deciding where to put my bets when the wheel started spinning. Missed the entire round. Felt a bit daft, if I'm honest.

Third mistake — and this one's properly embarrassing — I accidentally doubled a bet by tapping the same segment twice on mobile. Instead of £1 on Lil' Blues I'd placed £2. Didn't trigger that spin, thankfully, but it taught me to actually look at the bet confirmation display before the timer runs out.

Took me about three sessions to develop a routine. Now I always start with the same spread — £0.50 on each bonus and £1 on 5 — and adjust from there. Also spent an embarrassing amount of time looking for an "auto-bet" button. Spoiler: there isn't one. Every spin needs manual bets. Which is actually a good thing for keeping yourself in check.
